Just because something happens to a lot of women doesn't mean that it's ok.

She sure needed attention. Her parents couldn't give her time, her friend had moved, she was in a new city, she needed friends to talk to and what not.

Women think a lot, like a hell lot, and they just need to get things out of themselves sometimes. Men have testosterone, and so when they are hurt they harm others( Tyler Down) and women think and react, so they hurt themselves and blame themselves for all mistakes(Hannah Baker). Every women needs attention(although the type of attention is different for everyone) and Hannah wasn't any different is asking that. She wanted to be heard, she wanted to speak it out loud enough to reach every single person, and she did, by those tapes.

Learning that the world is evil is one thing and learning and dying with it is another thing. Just because you know that a test is difficult doesn't mean you drop it even before starting it. But you have teachers to tutor you, parents to give moral support and friends that say,"Dude we will do it, worry not." She had none. Now there was miscommunication from her end as well, but there is just so much that you can expect from a person who has been raped and saw her friend get raped.

I see your point. Hannah should have been more mature. With the bryce thing in the book it is her fault and she was in the wrong. Show however she had a reason. Not saying you should do it though.

OP is spot on. Fact is Hannah herself was a bully. It was always about Hannah. Never the reasons why things happened the way they did. But Hannah's wants. And that is where she failed. She put her happiness in the hands of others when she alone, as we all are, is master of her own happiness. The tapes. They weren't about being heard, she made that clear on the first one. She told them point blank she blamed them and wanted them to feel guilty. Look at the pure hell she put Clay through. She knew from gossip that he had a bit of an emotional issue himself when he lived through being accused of being gay. Yet she tortured him into thinking that he was responsible for her piss poor choice. She blamed Justin when didn't correct the gossip about the tow of them, but she didn't do it either. She blamed Alex for making her a figure of talk about her ass. Yet again she never spoke out about it. She blamed Jessica for getting pissed. Yet again, did she say anything to anyone? No. She blames Marcus for doing exactly what all boys do, trying to get in her pants. She could have made it clear his attempt didn't work, instead she said....nothing. She blames Courtney for not saying the truth about the pictures, yet she didn't either. She mad at Zach for throwing away a letter he really didn't. Why no, oh I don't know, ask him instead of acting like a brat and throwing a hissy fit in the hall. She blames Clay for leaving, but she told him to leave, but she doesn't blame him cause she blames but doesn't blame him, pure bully behavior there. The only person she got right was Bryce and that was only about what he did to Jessica. Yet there she was, drunk yes, but sober enough to know what was going on and she did...…..nothing. In fact she punked out on that one. She could have went and told the police or heck anyone but she didn't. It wasn't about what happened to her friend, it was about what she saw. Again, she said nothing. She admits he didn't rape her, she let him because she figured if they thought she was a slut she might as well be one. She blamed Mr. Porter, who offered her help, asked her clearly what she wanted done. Her answer was to run away and expect him to chase her. Again about what Hannah wants done in her way and only her way. This whole mess was created by a girl who knew the outcome of being around certain people and yet she continually puts herself back in with those same people. Her suicide was about the fact that she demanded they treat her the way SHE wanted and nothing else. Her suicide in short was a temper tantrum followed up by bullying several people into believing they some how were responsible.
