From what I remember, she was in the tub with many people at first, not only Bryce. She was going to leave but he grabbed her and so on. It's not her fault she was attacked. It was the fact Bryce had the thought in the first place to take advantage of her body when she never gave 100% consent. That's what pushed her to the edge to her suicide. It's never the survivor's fault of an attack, it's the attacker themselves for choosing to commit the crime that they knew was wrong and it doesn't help any that she wanted him to stop but he didn't. He technically killed her. It wasn't her fault. The attack was not her fault. And it never will be. I find it ridiculous when someone blames the survivor and says "they could have avoided it by doing this instead" or "they got themselves attacked. They asked for it". It's basically saying that someone being shot for no reason is "their fault" because they "brought it on themselves". I say these things cuz I am also a survivor. So you wouldn't understand if you weren't in her shoes. Survivor's don't plan for an attack. They don't think/plan on being attacked at a certain moment of different days. It's unexpected. And in the moment, survivor's freeze. They don't know how to stop the moment or anything. So after the trauma, the survivor dissociates and normally tries fighting off the thoughts of ending their life, calling for help, ignoring it, or stay silent and never speak about the incident while pretending nothing happened while fighting off flashbacks 24/7. So no, it is not our faults for these specific attacks, it is the attacker themselves for even thinking about taking advantage of someone's body without being given 100% consent. End of discussion. I ho0e it makes sense to people who don't really understand and have never been there, but if you still think it's our fault, the SURVIVOR'S fault, idk what planet you're on right now, sorry ?♀️
