Honestly, this question is more difficult then it seems. I am not sure about Hannah. Her past was tragic but the way that she treated some people just wasn’t it. Her mood to clay when he accidentally said something wrong was unnecessary and she was disrespectful once Alex and Jessica got together. Clay seems like a nice person. The proof of this is how his attitude changed once Hannah killed herself. He tried to get justice for her as well as he could. He saw her everywhere he went- for example; the school. However, he should have told Skye sooner about how he was thinking about Hannah during their relationship. She would have understood but instead he left it until she noticed for herself.
Zach seemed nice as well because all he wanted to do was date Hannah. When one of his friends ( can’t remember the name but I’m sure I will soon ) made her feel uncomfortable, he walked over and sat by her at the restaurant. He even offered to pay for her milkshakes. As well as this, he seemed pretty close to Alex. After Alex shot himself in the head, Zach drove him to school and walked with him around. Spoke with him ETC. I just think that he needs to stop being afraid and do what is right. This means quit being friends with Bryce!
Alex is complicated. I do not understand why he needed to make the list. Yes, it did make girls feel uncomfortable with their bodies. Yes, Hannah did not appreciate herself being put on the list. But did he really mean to upset her that much? Then he went to quickly in his relationship with Jessica. Did he mean to upset her then? Most likely not. He was just happy with what he had at that moment. Him and Jessica seemed happy. Going to the movies. Hannah then spoiled it by acting jealous by charging Alex for his ticket but not Jessica and when Alex went to get popcorn. Things were tough Alex. He did realise that if one person was friends with Hannah, then she wouldn’t have killed herself. Maybe that meant that if they didn’t treat her like she did, she would have continued her life happy. This one is a maybe.
Justin is also a difficult one. Yes, he did take an inappropriate photo of Hannah. But he wasn’t the one who sent it around the school. Yes, he didn’t do much to stop Bryce from doing what he did. But he did run into the room and try. His life at home with tricky. With his stepdad hurting him. With his mum defending the dad. With no one being there for him during the toughest of times. Jessica and him seemed happy but if only he told her the truth sooner. It would have helped her more then it did keeping it from her. He did stop being friends with Bryce. This is a complicated answer as well. I think, on the inside, he is a nice person. Just took him time to show it.
