Katherine Langford a obtenu son diplôme à la Perth Modern School, où elle était nageuse classée au niveau national. La série 13 Reasons Why a été son premier rôle important. Elle a auditionné pour le rôle d'Hannah Baker sur Skype et a eu seulement 10 jours pour obtenir son Visa pour entrer aux Etats-Unis pour tourner la série.
